A growers' guide to topworking grapevines A clear and straightforward guide, which explains the advantages and disadvantages of topworking, and gives best practice guidelines to increase the chance of a successful topworking venture. The guide includes a risk assessment to determine whether topworking is the best option based on the health status of the vineyard, and the costs and likely benefits of undertaking a topworking venture. Soil, irrigation and nutrition A comprehensive manual for grapegrowers interested in improving water use efficiency and vine productivity. The second in the Grape Production Series, after the very popular Diseases and Pests Covers the physical, chemical and biological properties of soil, and provides the background for making better soil, irrigation and nutrition management decisions in the vineyard. Flowering and fruitset in grapevines Provides a comprehensive review of all the relevant scientific international research on the subject of fruitset - very little of which has been conducted in Australia. The book identifies several factors that can have a detrimental or positive effect on fruitset - including selection of planting material, use of rootstocks and timing of prunings.
