2006 South Australian winegrape crush survey - intake summary tables

Updated 27 October 2006. Currency Creek has now been added as a separate table. "Fleurieu zone (other)" no longer includes Currency Creek.

Intake summary information from the 2006 South Australian winegrape harvest is made available on the website for the convenience of winemakers and grapegrowers. This information is provided as a series of separate tables, one for each region (see below). The tables can be downloaded as PDFs. The full reports for each region, including planting and forecast data, are also available (click here).

Explanation of average purchase value
The calculated average purchase value per tonne is the total purchase value of all fruit of a given variety, divided by the total tonnes purchased of that variety. This is a weighted average receival price. It does not include end use bonuses or other adjustments determined post-receival. It should be noted that there is an enormous range of different pricing arrangements - including per hectare pricing, fair market value, achievement of specifications, adjustments for district average etc. - and the average purchase value may not represent the price achieved by the majority of growers.

Notes

  1. Own grown fruit is valued at the same average value as purchased fruit.
  2. Where there is no purchased fruit, an estimate of the value of the own grown fruit is made, using the calculated average price for other varieties of that colour in that region.
  3. The absence of lowest and highest prices means that fewer than three wineries supplied pricing data for that variety.
